My Paris Kitchen by David Lebovitz
This cookbook is incredible. The book is very well laid out and organized. David has a very conversational tone to his writing and it is a pleasure to read. The imagery he evokes only heightens my desire to go to Paris and eat everything!
The recipes are very concise and neatly laid out. I am impressed at how the ingredients are easily accessible. I have read many cookbooks about French cuisine and they really do love to complicate recipes or use complicated recipes. I do not always have a fresh herb bouquet ready for my cooking. The recipes in this book vary from rustic to classic french, which makes me feel like I can tackle more than a few of them without having an extensive grocery shopping trip.
The pictures are somewhat sparse, with only a fraction of the recipes showing images of the finished recipe or ingredients, but they are well used and the easy reading of the passages makes up for it. I think this book would be very much at home on a coffee table to pass the time as well as a cookbook to create delicious tastes from!
I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this review.
