I know that the Holidays are over, but I didn’t get a chance to show off my home-made gifts to my family. So here is some of the craziness I got myself into! I’m pretty absent minded about taking pictures of things before I give them away so this is just a selection.
My sister has some pretty good stuff already, so I had to do something fancy. This is the Heartland Lace Shawl, but I converted it into a rectangle instead of a triangle. This is done in Dream in Color Baby.
This is the Thermis Cowl with Ella Rae Lace Merino Worsted and some pretty awesome buttons I got from L&B Yarn store. I made another one for my mother in Purple/Black/Blue and one for myself in Green/Dark Blue/Light Blue.
This is my stunning brother wrapped in his present. He is a tall skinny dude so his blanket needed to be rectangular. This took forever, but mostly because I had to finish it in a relative short time. Rectangular Granny Square blanket.
I shall leave you all with a wonderful picture from our most recent holiday!
My birthday happens to fall on Valentine’s Day, so this year I went all “traditional” cake and made a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I made the frosting from scratch, and only put 1/2 the amount of confectionery sugar requested. The frosting is nicely cream cheese-y and not too sweet. There are 3 layers, which is awesome, and the cake was incredibly moist. Speaking of which, this is almost gone now.
